First of all, sit down with your agent to make a plan. With this strong seller’s market, we have more leverage when it comes to managing your closing date as a seller. On the buying side, things can be more challenging when competing with multiple offers, especially when the purchase is contingent on the sale of your home.
The best strategy largely depends on your personal circumstances. Is there somewhere you can temporarily move after you sell your current home? Do you have the resources to structure an offer in a way that reduces the risk of the seller? Your agent is on your side, so remember to be completely open with them.
As agents, we help you prepare for the inevitable stress and worry that comes with selling and buying a home. We’re experienced with coordinating sales and have the resources and processes in place to help reduce your stress. There’s no way to eliminate stress altogether, but we can greatly reduce it by helping you understand what to expect and what your part will be in the execution. We’ll stay in constant communication with you throughout the process so that you’re always up to date.
Managing two transactions at once can feel intimidating, but we’ve helped many clients do it and we can help you too. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’d love to assist you.
